The Critics Review Granville Burgess' Play
Monday, June 29, 2009

One anonymous classmate who attended the opening weekend of the new musical by Granville Burgess “BATTLECRY” said it was “stirring, polished and ready for Broadway, where the tickets will cost much more.. Antique guns and great battle scenes for the boys; period fashions and a love story for the girls--great for all ages!" You have four more weeks to see it in Gettysburg, PA. www.battlecrymusical.com The play was inspired by one of our class trips to Gettysburg and reviewed for historical authenticity by an our distinguished guide on those trips, Prof. McPherson. A producer (regrettably of Stanford, Amherst and Harvard, not Princeton) is negotiating with Granville to bring this production to N.Y., but what better place to see it than on site, so combine this with a visit to Amish country and take the kids (or, maybe grandkids, at our age) – All will love it. Don't miss the finale -- it elicited BOTH Goosebumps and tears from one audience member, a hardened NYC real estate lawyer. And also don’t forget tomorrow is the last day for Annual Giving!
