For the second consecutive year, the weather here in Princeton for Reunions was very favorable, though a little steamier than a year ago. Thanks to DAN HARMAN, our Reunion Chair, a good time was had by all who attended. Kudos to TOM FLEMING who received the Alumni Council Award for Service to Princeton, the highest honor that can go to an alum on Reunions weekend.  Click here to read President Eisgruber's remarks to Tom. Tom joins our prior recipients of this award: DOUG YEAGER (1992), JIM FLOYD (1998), PAUL SITTENFELD (2006) and DAVID FISHER (2012), giving us 5 winners of this prestigious award. We now join the Great Class of 1955, who inspired us to start the PICS Program, with 5 recipients. No other class has more. Tom was honored for his work as Chair of the Graduate Interclub Council, and clearly his work was appreciated as he was also singled out in President Eisgruber’s annual conversation with the alumni on Reunions Saturday. As BOB DURKEE put it, "The relationships between the clubs and the University are as strong as they have ever been, and Tom deserves an enormous amount of credit for that."

To recap the weekend, over 50 of us gathered for our Friday evening barbecue in Hamilton Courtyard. We were joined by the Classes of 1968 and 1971 driving the total to nearly 100. The next day about 60 of us gathered in the ’69 Memorial Garden for a hoagie lunch prior to the P-rade. We then marched in the P-rade with JEFF MARSTON ably handling the locomotive-leading duties in the absence of SANDY REA who had to attend a family wedding. In the evening, nearly 70 attended our annual Class meeting and dinner in the Class of 1956 Lounge at Princeton Stadium, and we were entertained by The Katzenjammers, one of the University’s a capella groups.

At our dinner, Tom’s award was recognized, along with the University anniversaries of two of our classmates: JOHN BURGESS’s 40^th year as a Professor in the Philosophy Department and BOB DURKEE’s 44^th year as a member of the University’s Administration. The dinner was followed by the University’s annual fireworks show that seemed even more spectacular than in the past. Photos of the weekend can be found here.

As we move toward our 50^th, I hope many of you can come back for the off year Reunions. It’s an opportunity to get together with classmates in a more intimate setting.
