You Say You'll Change the Constitution, Well, You Know
Friday, August 14, 2009
We did! Thanks to Dick Bott, our Class Constitution has made it into the 21st Century along with us. The original constitution, which dated back to our days on campus, was woefully out of date. At Dick’s prompting, the Class officers spent time last spring working on a total overhaul of the document, which was then approved and adopted at the Class meeting Saturday night of Reunions. In its new form, it should last us for another 40 years.

Muldoon’s Class of 69 Premieres at Reunions
Friday, August 14, 2009
Thursday night of our 40th saw the world premiere of Class of 69 written by honorary classmate Paul Muldoon and performed by his rock group Rackett. According to Wikipedia, Muldoon's poetry is known for difficulty, allusion, casual use of obscure or archaic words, understated wit, punning, and deft technique in meter and slant rhyme (go Paul!). But those of us who actually remember our time at Princeton shouldn’t have too much trouble with this one. Besides, what other class can say it is the subject of an original Muldoon? And as those in attendance know, Rackett did a wonderful job playing the song as well, and was called on to encore it at least once!

GETTYSBURG II, THE SEQUEL—A MEMORABLE WEEKEND!
Thursday, September 18, 2008
Forty-seven Classmates and guests are happy to report in on a great weekend at Gettysburg. Once again, we were blessed that Professor James McPherson was willing to give our Class his time and expertise. We were all impressed by his encyclopedic knowledge of the Gettysburg battle and its role in the outcome of the Civil War, plus his ability to connect these events to general state of the American life and technology at mid-18th century. Maybe equally important, however, was the infectious enthusiasm (and energy!) that he demonstrated throughout the three days.

The Hon. Randall T. Shepard '69: Some Core Judiciary Concerns
Tuesday, February 26, 2008
| The Editor interviews The Hon. Randall T. Shepard, Chief Justice, Indiana Supreme Court.
Editor's Note: In June of 2005, the leadership of DRI-The Voice of the Defense Bar formed a task force, chaired by John Trimble, to investigate issues facing the judiciary across America. The task force determined that the most readily identifiable areas of concern for the judiciary were 1) adequacy of judicial salaries, 2) adequacy of court funding, 3) court security, 4) unjust criticism of judicial opinions, and 5) judicial selection. These five topics were the focus of the work of the task force ... |
